I Take my Hair like my Coffee

This month at One Salon has been the most rewarding experience for me, and opened my eyes to a new light of 2020. I have worked in both the Electronic Security Industry and the Makeup/Beauty Industry for over 15 years, and I am finally HOME. I have left the security industry and REFUSE to waste any more of my time in the Corporate CISA world.

2020 has taken so much from me, and that was all I could see for so long. All the turmoil, the deaths of loved ones, the lost jobs, with the devil's work is all around us; it's truly hard to see the blessings. This year I've failed, but I have also succeeded, I have built my empire and now I will join the rest of my girl bosses' doing it on their own. I will embrace the love and blessings that have come to me this year, let's focus on that.

I have joined the One Salon Bridal team in St Charles, IL. It was my original plan at the end of 2019, but contracts and jobs kept me from my true passion. Now it's been 365 days for me, and I am sitting in my station at the salon writing this article. Its been a month or so since I've been here, and I have learned so much.

Mostly, I've learned to love myself more, stop beating myself up for things that I cannot control. I learned that I needed to wash 2020 right OUT of my hair, so that's what we did. Ami blended up a color that was as rich and dark as my coffee, then added shimmering creamy highlights. It turned out BEAUTIFUL, just like Sunday mornings <3

I've learned that I needed some Beauty Shop therapy more than ever. Listening to all the ladies coming in from all walks of life. Some with their son's or daughters, others with their husbands, and some with great friends. I've heard so many stories since November that have shown me more about life... more about humans, and how amazing we actually are. We are here for each other, we are a unit, we are One!
