Oh my gosh you guys!
It's official, I've turned into that fitness person, and I love it. I know if you're a follower of mine you know that the "Michelle Swoons blog" you used to know had tons of info and posts throughout the years. Since I moved my website to wix, I lost most of my blogs, so I have to start over. Which isn't always a bad thing! This time I'm going to do it the right way, the perfect way, and have everything I want when I want it.
Part of that means that I get to re-do my blog, and reword things so that they're a little bit more Eating Disorder friendly. I didn't realize it before, but I was using words that could be a trigger for some Eating Disorders, which is the exact opposite of what I'm trying to do here. As someone with Binge Eating Disorder, I know that there are so many things that can have a negative effect on people, and I don't want that experience for anyone. So here is my story, my eating disorder recovery story, and my road to freedom!
Anywho, I was featured this week in Naperville Magazine, and I am so darn excited! They came out to my gym to take pictures of me not too long ago. I felt like a superstar, and I cannot wait to share them with you. They were also super supportive and friendly, I cannot believe how many blessings have been sent to me this year.
This is Doctor Lowden, She's my Metabolic Endo over at Delnor Hospital, and she's been helping me with the Eating Disorder since I was diagnosed in 2016. She has been my guardian angel, I know it.
This is Katie, she's one of my therapists that also has been helping me with the Eating Disorder, as well as other things of course. She has been treating me since Dec of 2017, and the things I've learned about myself throughout this process has been truly amazing. She has also recommended some additional counseling to be added to my treatment, which has been ANOTHER god send. Working with Tiffany Davis over at Intermission Therapies in Geneva, Il just took me to the next level.
This is Brian Redard and Tori Clement of Ultifit Naperville. I joined Ultifit on "a whisper and a fart" back in Feb of 2018. Since then, my life has completely changed. Brian and Tori are not only my trainers, but my friends. They've been there to celebrate my success' and help me since the first day, I'll never be able to repay them for everything they've done for me, but I know they know how much I love them both.
You're probably wondering why I'm telling you all this now, and I wanted you to see what #edrecovery actually looks like. You have doctors, therapists, friends, loved ones, more doctors, and a community of people that turn into a TEAM. "Team Michelle" has been growing and growing, more and more people are joining the efforts to keep me on track. I wanted you to know that it takes a village. There are people out there to help you, and if you're suffering from something, there is hope. You CAN do this, with the right treatment plans, and kindness you can accomplish goals. You are NOT your disease,
